With the birth of the Voice of Soweto(a
now defunct community radio station), Paul joined the
station firstly as a news reader and to later host his own
Saturday Breakfast Show on the station.
His skills, energy, originality
guaranteed him a welcome into The Y world, a brand he has
grown with since it’s inception in 1997.
As an evening host on the station, Groove
Kamikaze(6pm-10pm),his show, was quick to be the more
popular show at the time, with features like “Youth Cross
Fire”, Rap Activity Jam, a slot whereby Rudeboy would give
unrecorded underground Rap and Hip Hop artists the
opportunity to voice out their talents and tunes on Air.
As a growing house hold name, Rudeboy was
chosen to present, the popular Youth Music Show, “Jam Alley”
,on SABC1, which gave him further accessibility and exposure
to the very same market he was presenting to on Radio.
It was also at this time that his love
and skill for the Turntable would develop.
His passion for the arts, music and
entertainment lead him to register Rudeboy Productions
(Pty)Ltd in 2001
In 2002, Yfm took on a new look and feel,
placing Rudeboy as a main Prime Time presenter, giving birth
to the Kamikaze Heat(2pm-6pm), with Co-host Unathi Nkayi.
Paul continued to enthrall his listeners,
with new features, the brain teaser, live interviews, major
focus on local Music, hip hop, R&B sessions, entertainment
news, live poetry readings and prank calls.
Within the same year he was elected the
Editor of Y magazine, Gautengs urban popular culture
magazine for the youth. Due to his eminent dedication to the
mag he managed to get, 3 awards, best consumer magazine for,
2 consecutive years, and best youth Magazine.
2002, brought forward
appearances on Soul City, Amandla- A revolution in four part
harmony( A Bomb Shelter Production).
The Lions Trial, a documentary following
the trial of the “Mbube” song, by Solomon Linda, a song that
Rudeboy was to remix for his Debut album, Azanian Pulse 1st
offering ( A Rudeboy Productions product).
His Poetry initiative on Radio saw
winning the Arts And Culture Award in 2003, for best
supporting Media in Arts and Culture.
Having completed a full cycle from Radio,
TV, Print. It would be safe to say, Rudeboy has gone a long
way in becoming the Captain of the Airwaves and a mouth
peace for the youth.
Rudeboy Paul, the poet, drummer musician,
vocalist, emcee, presenter, DJ, actor, editor and Chief
Executive Director, has collaborated with the likes of Moses
Khumalo, Kgafela wa Magogodi, Sipho Sithole(deputy CEO,
Gallo Records), Joe Nina, Jerah and Bafana Nhlapo.
The Rude One, is an opinion leader, a man
who always has his finger on the Pulse, a distinguished
sense of style and confidence.
His musical journey, Azanain Pulse
Remix Album(Debut) 20 000, brought forth a musical array of
original mixed tracks, songs by the like of Miriam Makeba,
Bambata, Busi Mhlongo, Oliver Mtukudzi…………….
Launching to the young masses of the
world, pure Afro Groove Flavour.
This flavour is further transformed into
live shows, with Rudeboy’s band,
Formed late 2002, the band display
authentic original live digital house sounds that only
experience can explain, a must see for all.

2006, brace yourselves.
As the man himself would say, “ There is
no death, but only eternity”.
And so it shall for ever be.
